The first wireless message was sent across the ocean. The "Great White Fleet" of the US warships sailed on 14 month "Good Will" tour of the world. The Panama Canal Zone was obtained from Panama. San Francisco earthquake destroyed the city and killed 452 persons. Albert Einstein published his "Theory of Relativity." US claims settled in the Alaska Boundary Dispute. The American Standard Version of the Kings James Bible was published. Japan defeated Russia in the "Russo-Japanese" war. President Roosevelt became the first American to win a Nobel Peace Prize for helping to end the conflict.
